I am a software engineer who came to product work through robotics.

I started programming and building websites young, studied computer engineering, then did an MSc in robotics. Most of my work now is software that businesses run on.

Robotics is where I learned to distrust a system that only works when everything goes right. A robot gets noisy sensor readings and still has to do something sensible. For my dissertation I built a retail robot that had to recognise products, keep track of them between camera frames and update a stock system without counting the same item twice.

I now apply that habit to ordinary business software. At DZND I am the principal architect of eventOS, a platform for selling tickets and running events. It has hosted paid events. Most of the difficult work was in the unglamorous cases: a payment confirmation that arrives twice, two people buying the last ticket at the same moment, a door scanner that loses its connection halfway through the queue.

The AI work I enjoy most looks similar. For Gazelle's Kitchen, the owner did not mainly need faster replies. People were pretending to place orders so they could reach her and harass her. I built a WhatsApp assistant that takes genuine orders, follows the rules she publishes, and gives abusive messages no reply at all. Fixed rules decide who reaches her. The language model only helps with wording.

I write backend code most comfortably. I also build the web and mobile interfaces that sit on top when a project needs it. I am looking for hands-on engineering work in applied AI and automation, backend systems, or robotics software.
