Private internal document build

Redacted build note: files are untrusted before they are useful

A private document workspace treated signatures, duplicates, secrets, permissions and review as one ingestion pipeline.

This note describes a private document-processing pattern without naming the system or exposing connector, customer, or storage details.

A file entering the workspace is not immediately available to search or classification. It first passes through a controlled ingestion path.

The pipeline

The build validates the file signature, enforces an upload size limit, computes a content digest for duplicate detection, extracts text, scans for credentials and personal data, redacts sensitive spans before model processing, and routes restricted or low-confidence records to human review.

Classification uses structured JSON with schema validation. A deterministic fallback remains available when the model response is missing, malformed, or below confidence thresholds.

Permission-aware retrieval

Search cannot be separated from access control. A relevant document is still the wrong answer if the requester is not allowed to see it.

The retrieval path therefore applies row-level permission checks before returning results. Connector callbacks are signed or identity-verified, and restricted records never become globally searchable simply because ingestion succeeded.

The useful abstraction is not “AI filing.” It is controlled movement from untrusted bytes to permission-aware knowledge.
